There are three different sectors in the poultry industry: the production of chicks, the breeding of poultry and the production of eggs for consumption. Ourpoultrydivisionincludesthethreelevels of production.
In the particular case of eggs for consumption, a farm on Sierra de los Padres with a capacity for 70000 birds allows the company to cater for all the stages in Mar del Plata. The rest is acquired from local producers, with whom the company has special agreements as regards quality, type of eggs and packaging, with different requirements.
The company has seven farms for the production of chicks, located in Cnel. Vidal, Colonia Barragán and the area of quintas (country houses) of Laguna de los Padres. The breeders -of special genetic lines- are in these farms, and produce the current chick, which has a particular predisposition to a fast development and growth, the very stars of the henhouse: the popularly called “doblepechuga” (“double breast”).
The eggs laid in those farms are daily taken to the incubation plant in Sierra de los Padres, where they are kept in incubators for 21 days at the proper temperature and humidity for the chicks to be born.
